Spyder E Trigger Problem
I have an old Spyder Flash that I keep around for stand-by. It worked great for 6 years and then developed problems with its E trigger system. Everything functions normally, except for the solenoid which does not apply enough force to the sear pin unless the marker was plugged into the wall charger.
I tried a new battery (9.6VDC) and replaced the capacitor, both of which helped but I still only get less than 200 shots while on battery. My next step is to replace the solenoid; the coil may be corroding and shorting the copper windings together - reducing impediance and power.
I need a stand-by marker, I don't want to buy a new one, and I don't want to spend a lot of money repairing an old one.
Any thought as to the problem? Anyway to salavage an older marker without breaking the bank?
